Religious Task Force
The Porter County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Program was established in 2002, under the direction of Sheriff Dave Reynolds. It began with facilitating ministry in the jail, counseling, Bible studies, distributing religious material and holding protestant and catholic services on Saturday and Sunday. In 2003, The Religious Task Force (RTF) was established. The RTF consists of individuals from many different churches around the area that have volunteered their time to spiritually encourage those incarcerated at the Porter County Jail. Some do a Bible study once a week, while others are involved in facilitating the services on the weekend. The RTF is under the direction of the Senior Chaplain.
