In addition to the open race, there will be a police/fire competition.  The Police/Fire Challenge takes the top three finishers from their department, combines their finishing times, and uses the total time to compete against other departments.  Winning department receives bragging rights and a traveling trophy.

Departments eligible include any department related to Police and/or Fire.  This can include, but is not limited to:  Prosecutor’s Office, Probation, Jail, and EMS.  (Final determination of qualification goes to the Race Director.)

In the near future, local Departments will be contacted and asked to participate.  The hope is that numerous participants represent each department.  If your department was not contacted directly, please feel free to enter your department as a competitor.  If you cannot find three total competitors from your department (which is very very sad), then come and run as a solo runner.
